My name is PFC Kyle Wheeler. I am training to become an Orthopedic Specialist (68B) in the United States Army. I attended the University of Nevada, Reno for three years, working towards a Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience. And as life has it, the world has its own plans for the future. I quickly found myself looking for a new beginning in the military, and I can wholeheartedly say that it has been the best decision I have made.
I understand joining the military is a major, life-changing decision that may be very difficult for some people looking to enlist in the armed forces. For those who are currently serving, I hope my knowledge, experiences, and advice assist you in life in the military. And finally, to those of you who have already served our nation, I hope my experiences help you find joy in memories during your time sacrificed for our freedoms.
In this blog, I plan to deliver advice to new soldiers, as well as explain parts of everyday life while in Army Basic Combat Training (BCT) and Advanced Individual Training (AIT). I will share the best and worse memories from my own military career. Also, you will be able to see how I am financially planning for a future after the military. If there is ever any topics or questions that you have, please let me know and I will do my best to answer them. Thanks!
